Profile of the Programme
There are three majors in the Department: Prehistorical Archaeology, Protohistory and Near Eastern Archaeology, and Classical Archaeology. In addition to the courses provided by these majors, the students are offered with various other courses such as Ancient History, Anthropology, History of Architecture, Archeometry, etc in order to provide an excellent education in an interdisciplinary perspective. Moreover, beginning with the second year, the students are expected to choose elective courses so that they can specialize in one of these majors, which will then prove very helpful in setting a more accurate specialization in their postgraduate studies. The students are also given the opportunity to participate in the excavations and surveys conducted by our academic staff in order to render them experienced in technical field studies and methods of evaluating archaeological material on spot.
