1- Develops his/her up to date knowledge with his/her original ideas, researches based on the knowledge and skills in the field of pharmacognosy.
2- Deepens her/his information lifelong by following national/international developments from printed publications, technological tools and databases.
3- Improves a new idea, method, practice in the field of Pharmacognosy, can apply known ideas, methods and practices to different areas.
4- Performs a scientific study either alone or in collebaration with different disciplines related to pharmacognosy by using computer, necessary technical equipment and devices.
5- Interprets the results of a study that he/she participated or conducted critically, reports and presents these result in a scientific meeting, publishes them in a national/international peer-reviewed journal.
6- Has cognitive analysis ability, knowledge and statistical methods to assess a scientific article related to the field.
7- Is in communication with his/her colleagues and other health professionals, experts and public. Shares his/her knowledge and ideas written and orally in at least one foreign language.
8- Knows secondary metabolites in medicinal plants, has information about their biogenesis and their production by biotransformation and biotechnological ways.
9- Knows isolation, structure elucidation and analysis of natural compunds responsible for the biological activities of the medicinal plants.
10- Know about traditional medicines, plans and conducts a traditional medicine field study.
11- Has information about herbal, animal originated drugs, mushrooms and marine pharmacognosy.
12- Knows about natural products that can be used in disorders and diseases in the organism, dermocosmetics, drug-drug and drug-food interactions.
13- Knows and applies the necessary methods for evaluation of biological activities of plants.
14- Has information about taxonomy of medicinal and toxic plants and mushrooms, knows their microscopic, morphological properties, medicinal and toxic effects.
15- Applies classical and instrumental techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis of compounds of biological origin.
16- Has information about investigation of new sources for known biological activities, evaluation of an unknown medicinal plant as a drug active substance or herbal medicine.
17- Collects data on topics such as parmacognosy, phytopharmacy and ethnobotany, takes part in national and international studies to interpret and advertise these data.
18- Has information about production, properties, quality and analysis of herbal medicine, drug preparation, herbal teas and medicinal plants.
19- Has knowledge on pharmacopoeia analysis of medicinal plant, drug, drug preparations and bio-active compounds for evaluation of their specifications.
20- Designs new studies by using his-her knowledge on ethnobotanical, ethnopharmacological, traditional and folkloric usage of plants.
