Physiology is ascience that seeks to answer the questions "how does organism maintain its viability, how does it work?” Therefore physiology is the backbone of the medical education. Understanding how the organism works is fundamental to solve the mechanisms of the diseases, and find cure for them.
Our primary mission in education is train our graduate and undergraduate (medical) students with most up to date scientific literature and data, and to educate them as a scientist who questions,investigates and produces qualified scientific data in accordance with ethical rules.
Cellular and organ systems physiology are taught during the education process and the students work on research projects and gain the essential skills to design and conduct experiments and data analysis, method development.
Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Department ofPhysiology has been providing education and research services at the undergraduate and graduate level (Master, Doctorate and Medical Specialization)for 40 years since its establishment.
35 MS, 35 Ph.D., 15 Medical Thesis have been completed in the Department of Physiology and 85 graduate students have graduated in total. Currently, 8 doctorate, 4 specialization in medicine, 1 master''''s degree and 1 scientific preparation program students continue their education. 5 faculty members, 2 lecturers (applied field) and 4 research assistants are currently employed for conducting our training and research activities.
