Programme Information
Founded in 1999, the Department of Nursing trains nurses protecting, carrying out and improving the health of family and society in line with the reality and needs of the country, giving nursing care whenever it is deteriorated, adopting lifelong learning in an educational period of 4 years. In this process, the students take theoretical and practical courses as well as basic and social sciences. The practices of vocational courses are applied at hospital, family health centres, mother child health and public health centres, kindergartens, schools, businesses and elderly care homes depending on the content of the course. After the graduation, students can practice as intern students at different health departments when they are at the final class in order to adapt to their vocational career and give more qualitative care. Students complete the undergraduate program in compatible with European Union standards with 4774 hours and 186 credits and 240 ECTS. With the programs of Farabi and Erasmus, the department graduated first students as a College in the academic year of 2002-2003. The program of Master at Nursing started in the academic year of 2003-2004 and 110 students graduated up to now. First students of doctorate was accepted in the academic year of 2012-2013. Education is carried out in eigth branches of our department. In the academic staff are 5 professors, 11 associate professors, 4 lecturer , and 11 research assistants.
