Students will be able to describe the interactions among glucose, lipid and protein metabolism and the biochemistry of energy metabolism.
To define the etiology and the cellular mechanisms of regeneration of autoimmune diabetes,Type 1 Diabetes.
To define The Management of Type 1 Diabetes and the History of Type 1 Diabetes Treatments.
To define the etiology and the cellular mechanisms of Type 2 Diabetes.
To explain the parthenogenesis of Short-term and Long-term complications of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
To explain the intracellular signalling alterations in the mechanisms of diabetic complications.
To explain insulin receptor signalling mechanisms and Insulin analogues in the treatment of diabetes.
To explain which risk factors are associated with diabetes complications, and should discuss the assessing diabetes complication risk factors.
To explain the intracellular mechanisms of oral anti-diabetic drugs, and should discus new targets for diabetes treatment.
Students should appreciate the molecular experiments with pancreas beta-cell lines, INS1E.

2. Week  Neuroendocrine regulation of energy metabolism: Insulin and other gastroenteropancreatic hormones
3. Week  Regulation of energy metabolism by inflammation: A feedback response in obesity and calorie restriction.
4. Week  Regulation of energy metabolism by adipose tissue hormones: Leptin, ghrelin, adiponectin, resistin and others.
5. Week  The etiology and the cellular mechanisms of autoimmune diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes.
6. Week  The Management of Type 1 Diabetes by insulin: From history to the future of Type 1 Diabetes Treatments.
7. Week  Insulin analogues in the treatment of diabetes.insulin receptor signalling mechanisms.
8. Week  The etiology and the cellular mechanisms of Type 2 Diabetes.
9. Week  The parthenogenesis of Short-term and Long-term complications of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
10. Week  The intracellular signalling alterations in the mechanisms of diabetic complications.
