Developing perception and visual thinking skills
Developing a systematic and creative visual language in which the learners can express their thoughts
Ability to use basic design principles, tools and elements
Developing technical drawing skills
Gaining ability to abstraction
Understanding whole-part relation
Providing necessary coordination for visual thinking in between eye, mind and hand
Developing two and three dimensional design skills
Gaining the ability to use the fictional tools of visual language required for urban planning and design

1. Week  Introducing the basic requirements of the course and the studio work: studio orientation training
2. Week  Gestalt Theory, basic principles of visual perception: Exercises related to part-whole relationship and principles of organization of whole and order
3. Week  Introduction to the basic concepts of visual education (the basic design elements, tools and principles)
4. Week  Exercises: Rhythmical organizations with the line, color, and texture
5. Week  Visualization exercises and abstraction studies
6. Week  Midterm Exam / Jury (two dimensional works)
7. Week  Technical drawings / sketch studies
8. Week  Three dimensional design works (volume/solid/void), with themes of unity, diversity, continuity, rhythm, group, and hierarchy.
