To learn the history and general characteristics of basic intellectual-philosophical movement from XIX. century to the present
To learn applications at literary and political areas of ideal movements.
To learn relations of literature with neighboring areas (philosophy, sociology, social psychology, politics, etc.) and ways to benefit from them.

1. Week  Relationship between literature and philosophy and self-realization of philosophy at literature and politics.
2. Week  Presentation of intellectual-philosophical trends in Turkey of XIX. and XX. century and society orientation, through the literature, movements.
3. Week  Features of continued classical trend, provisions at social and literary life of them.
4. Week  The emergence of the bourgeoisie, romance, French Revolution and reflections in Turkey
5. Week  The industrial revolution, modernism and impact in Turkey of the advancement of rationality.
6. Week  Intellectual-literary effects in the Ottoman Empire of positivism, realism-naturalism and parnasizm
7. Week  The emergence of psychiatry and its effects starting from surrealism.
8. Week  Mid term exam
9. Week  Movements such as unanimizm and futurism at the beginning of XX. century and to be industrial society.
10. Week  Warfare and dadaism and existentialism as philosophical, social-psychological, literary reflection.
11. Week  Formation of the individual and individual-based intellectual-literary movements.
12. Week  Marxism and materialist / formalist quests.
13. Week  Modern romanticism and nationalism, historicism, hermeneutics; postmodern trends and reflections on literature of them.
