To learn features and histories of basic idea movements in XX. century.
To realize the function of distributing and and taking advantage of these movements in literature.
To observe trends creating new movements to itself, produce theories and development criticism and analysis methods regarding to idea movements in lit

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  In the beginning of XX. century, intellectual turmoil in the Ottoman Empire and its sides inherited from the previous century
2. Week  The historical roots, opinion leaders and the literature of Ottomanist movement.
3. Week  The historical roots, opinion leaders and the literati of Islamism movement.
4. Week  The historical roots, opinion leaders and the literati of Turkism movement.
5. Week  Intellectual foundations of reforms literature created by Atatürk's reforms and Republic of Turkey
6. Week  The social realist literature of Marxist movements up to 1980 and Marxism.
7. Week  After World War II, existentialism in Turkey and its literary reflections.
8. Week  Mid-term exam
9. Week  Revolution in 1960 and Kemalism is beginning synonymous with socialist literature.
10. Week  Reflection in literature of political polarization in the 1970’s and ideological-engaged literature
11. Week  The rediscovery of the individual after 1980 and the rise of apolitical literature.
12. Week  Liberalism in the 1990’s is inciting the Americanism in the literature.
13. Week  Literary reflections of artificial birth pangs of postmodernism in the 2000’s and feminism is being an intellectual-political movements.
