Learners will become familiar with the historical and current reading theory and research. 
Learners will be able to articulate the role of second language literacy in second language development as well as in cognitive and academic developme
Learners will be able to articulate the relationship between first and second language reading and writing.
Learners will gain experience in evaluating different reading materials. 
Learners will develop a set of pedagogical practices for teaching literacy in L2.
