2. Week  Defining hormones, neurotransmitters and cytokines.
3. Week  Major endocrine organs. Classification of hormones.
4. Week  Mechanism of action of hormones.
5. Week  Cell signalling.
6. Week  Control mechanisms of hormones.
7. Week  The hormones of the hypothalamus and pituitary.
8. Week  Mid-term exam.
9. Week  The hormonal control of calcium and phosphate metabolism.
10. Week  Thyroid function.
11. Week  Pancreas and GI hormones; control of feeding and metabolism.
12. Week  Adrenal medulla and cortex hormones. Endocrine regulation of the stress response.
