Pharmaceutical chemistry is focused on the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of drugs. Pharmaceutical chemistry doctorate programme provides students with a thorough understanding of chemical basis of drug action, structure-activity relationships (SAR), structural and physicochemical properties, absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) profiles. After completing a doctorate programme, students gain a broad knowledge and practice skills about  pharmaceutical chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, spectroscopic and chromatographic analysis. Pharmaceutical chemistry aims to give a critical thinking and evidence-based problem-solving skills to students.

The four year doctorate programme in Pharmaceutical chemistry is organized in four semesters course cycle (120 ECTS credits), a proficiency exam (30 ECTS credits) followed by four semesters thesis period (120 ECTS credits).
