 -- LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT
This course will provide a general overview of the field of Children’s Literature.
It includes an investigation of the history of childhood through its representations in children’s books differing in genre and period
The goals of the course are to share and develop knowledge and enthusiasm for children’s literature, to establish guidelines for evaluating it
The course aims to cover educational theory and practice as well as the literature itself.
At the end of the course, the students will • read widely in the professional literature for a greater understanding of current trends
• become familiar with different genres of literature for children and young adults
• develop critical standards with which to examine these titles
• gain theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Children’s Literature to use them in teaching English as a foreign language.
