Explain basic principals of colour science,
Assess colour information in textile design,
Describe the term of colour and its numerical expression,
Describe the colour measuring devices,
Evaluate the colour measurement standards,
Employ color harmonies in textile designs
Make necessary color distribution in textile design
Create appropriate color variants for each design
Prepare color sets for a textile product together with basic color and color variants

1. Week  Definition of light and its interaction with textile materials.
2. Week  Light sources, illuminants and CIE standard sources.
3. Week  Physical properties of color, Colour circle, information about primary, secondary and tertiary colors
4. Week  Warm and cold colors, psychological properties of colours, Color harmonies, additive and subtractive color mixing.
5. Week  Information about tristimulus values, color triangle, CIElab color system.
6. Week  Fundamentals of color measurement. Vision mechanisms.The term of color space, Colour difference formulas
7. Week  Mid-term exam
8. Week  Subjective and objective color assessment.
9. Week  Colour measuring devices, Calorimeter and CIE system, colour matching
