Define terms and numerical expressions of color,
Adapt the color science to textile design,
Explain the fundamentals of color measurement,
Apply the settings of color measuring devices,
Explain the properties of color measuring and prescribing programs,
Evaluate the color measurement standards,
Analyze the relationship between dying process and final color,
Evaluate the color of textile materials by objective and subjective methods.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Definition of light and its interaction with textile materials.
2. Week  Light sources, illuminants and CIE standard sources. Subjective and objective color assessment.
3. Week  Physical properties of color, Colour circle, information about primary, secondary and tertiary colors
4. Week  Warm and cold colors, psychological properties of colours, color harmonies, additive and subtractive color mixing.
5. Week   Information about tristimulus values, color triangle, CIElab color system.
6. Week  Fundamentals of color measurement. Vision mechanisms.
7. Week   Mid-term Exam
8. Week  Definition of color difference and assessment methods. Measurement of floresance, metamerism.
9. Week  General information about colour measuring instruments
10. Week  Portable and online colour measuring instruments. Colour measurement application in textile and other industries
11. Week  Preparation of database and assessment of calibration dyeings for colour matching. Colour tolerances and Pass/Fail decisions
12. Week  Colour difference formulas and assessments in CIELAB colour space. Colour measuring standards. Colour measurement in physics laboratory and assessmen
13. Week   Assessment of results. Manual and other colorant formulation methods.
14. Week  Relationship between chromatic values, colour harmonies, hue, value intensity and colour depth, form and colour
15. Week   Relationship between physiological and pschylogical aspects of colour and materials, understanding the perception of colour over natural and synthet
