To be equipped with the historical background of the Picture Books
Will be able to recognize the relationship between pictures and words
Will be able to make a useful plan for the picture book making process
Will be able to create pictures and designs of a picture book
Will be able to make the book ready for the print process

1. Week  History of visual narrative and the picture books 1 (The period before the invention of movable type printing)
2. Week  History of visual narrative and the picture books 2 (The period after the invention of movable type printing)
3. Week  Historical development of the Children’s Picture Books 1 (Conventional Period)
4. Week  Artist’s Books (Beginning of the personal picture book projects)
5. Week  The affects of the art movements of 19. and 20. centuries on the children’s picture books
6. Week  Historical development of the Children’s Picture Books 2 (Period after modernism)
7. Week  The affects of the developments on printing technology on the children’s picture books
8. Week  The development of picture books in Turkey
9. Week  Midterm Exam (Finalizing the main sketches and spreed designs of the book project)
10. Week  The structure of modern picture books and the theories about picture books
11. Week  The contemporary and experimental picture books
12. Week  The “design text” in picture books (pictures, typography, cover and page designs, etc.)
