The shape, pattern, structure and function of urban settlements on historical periods.
Evolution processes and their causes of cities.
The urban settlements and planning approaches are developed from historical periods to nowadays.
Effects of technological changes on the urban areas, the planning concept and techniques which are developing according to modern urban life needs
The effect of natural conditions and traditional patterns (social, physical and economical) on the urban settlement forms and planning.
Interpreting and considering the current state of the urban area according to the planed-unplanned developments in historical periods.
Considering historical identity of city on urban planning as a planner.


 -- MODE OF DELIVERY
  This course is conducted museums visit, on-site inspection and face to face training methods.

3. Week  The earliest civilizations on the earth, their settlement properties and Fertile Crescent, and the early cities in Anatolia (Çatalhöyük, Aşıklıhöyük,
4. Week  The earliest civilizations and their cities of Mesopotamia (Ur, Babil) and the earliest civilizations and their cities of Egypt.
5. Week  The earliest civilizations and their cities of Far-East (Indian and Chinese Cities),The traditional of central space in Central Asia and the earliest.
6. Week  The earliest civilizations and urbanism of Central America and Mexican, Peruvian and their cities.
7. Week  Mid-term Exam
8. Week  Greek and Roman imperial civilization and urbanism, and their cities.
9. Week  Medieval European Towns; effects of religion, commerce, Feudalism, Medieval industry, and elements of the Medieval towns.
10. Week  Medieval Islamic Cities and Ottoman Cities in Anatolia.
11. Week  Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo Urbanism.
