To be able to define the basic concepts of open learning and teaching. Explain the theories and philosophy of open and distance learning. To understand the historical development of open learning and distance education in the world and Turkey. To be able to explain the roles of students and teachers in open and distance learning. To be able to comprehend the technologies used in open and distance learning. To be able to relate the management of open and distance learning, classroom management and its components in open and distance learning. To be able to interpret open educational resources and trends in the world. To be able to explain the characteristics of mass open online courses, individualized learning environments and designs. To be able to comprehend the problems related to open and distance learning and to propose solutions. To be able to define individual teaching material development and student support services in open and distance learning. Knowledge of teaching strategies for different learning situations. To be able to explain research and evaluation applications in distance education.
