To describe and comment on the absorption, bioavalibility, distribution and elimination of the drugs, and the drug-receptor interaction.
To comment on the physiology of autonomic nervous system, and to classify the drugs used in the therapy of the diseases related with the autonomic ner

1. Week  Introduction to pharmacology, basic definitions and notions.
2. Week  The absorbtion and bioavailabilty of drugs. The drug distribution.
3. Week  Basic pharmacokinetics. Elimination of the drugs.
4. Week  Drug-receptor interaction and mechanism of action of the drugs.
5. Week  The factors modifying the effects of drugs. Drug toxicity.
6. Week  Basic approach to acute intoxication treatment.
7. Week  Drug interactions in Clinical aspects of Dentistry.
8. Week  Introduction to autonomic nervous system.
9. Week  Parasympathomimetics, anticholinergics.
10. Week  Sympathomimetics, Adrenergic receptor blockers.
11. Week  Antihypertensive drugs.

1Must have the necessary information about the normal structures of mouth and tooth and surrounding tissues, and their functions.
2Must know the oral diseases’ causes and occurrence mechanism. Can identifiy the changes in mouth and on teeth caused by diseases.X
3Can coment on the clinical and radiological finding belongs to the diseases and if necessary can synthesize them with laboratory and pathological findings.
4Must use all kinds of tools and technologies required by the profession of dentistry for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.X
5Must know the sufficient information about the supplies used in dental clinics and systemic effects of drugs.X
6Must have effective communication based on mutual understanding, trust and respect with patient, family, colleagues and people working in the environment.X
