Gazi University Sport Sciences Faculty is the oldest school of its kind in Turkey. It was founded in 1932-1933 to educate PE teachers for secondary schools. In 1982 it merged with 19 May Youth and Sport Academy and named as Gazi Education Faculty Physical Education and Sport Department and then in 1992 it became a part of Gazi University and named School of Physical Education and Sports. Since 2016, it was named as Sport Sciences Faculty.
