Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of Audiology MS program may be emploed in all hospitals (Health Ministery, universities and private ones) and private companies (hearing device & CI in partcular) or practised in their own offices & centers. Particularly after the newborn screening program which was started in 2003, all newborns in Turkey have been screened by the hearing tests and about 20.00 children are referred to the centers in which audiologist should be employed. However, in Turkey, there is no audiologist in most of the cities with exception of Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Samsun, Adana, Antalya, Diyarbakır, Zonguldak, Eskişehir ve Gaziantep. Approximate number of the all active audiologists are currently about 150 in Turkey, which means 1/20 of the exact number which is urgently necessary. Hence, the graduates are all wellcomed to all govermental and university hospitals, and those completed the PhD programs will have the chance to be acedemician in the audiology field.
