Programme Information
Gazi University Faculty of Medicine was founded in October 2nd, 1979. Education was started with seven faculty members, 17 residents and 100 medical students. First students graduated in 1985. A new research and education hospital was opened in 1986. The training block containing modern classrooms and laboratories was opened in 1988. Gazi Hospital outpatient, inpatient units, laboratory and medical imaging units put into service in 1997. TS-EN-ISO 9001 Quality System Certificate was received in 1998. Faculty of Medicine Student Social Facility containing a dining hall, cafeterias, reading room, internet center, billiards, table tennis and chess room was opened in 2000. In addition, Clinical Skills Laboratory was opened in order to assist clinical practice. Gazi Medical School was awarded by the National Medical Education Accreditation in 2011 and 2017. In 2009-2010 Educational Year, English Medical School was started and successfully implemented. Gazi v English Medical School was awarded by the National Medical Education Accreditation in 2018. Today, Gazi Medical School is one of the leading medical schools in Turkey with 288 professors, 76 associate professors, 19 assistant professors, 29 lecturer, 14 non-doctoral lecturer, 843 residents and 2927 medical students and is contributing modern medical education.
