At the end of the course, the student will know the types of articles, the structual elements of an article and the ethical principles
The students will acquire the basics for preparing their own articles

1. Week  Why does a scientist write a paper?
2. Week  Selection of the target audience and the communication medium
3. Week  Original research, short communication, review, case report and letter to the editor formats
4. Week  Parts of a standard journal article
5. Week  Title: abstract, keywords: how to choose and why important.
6. Week  Introduction: First appeal to the reader, the aim and construction of a hypothesis
7. Week  Materials and Method: Repeatability, international standards and metric units, established or novel test methods
8. Week  Results: Transfer of the experimental data to the reader; Tables, graphics, images, photographs and other tools of assistance.
9. Week  Discussion: Locating the position of the research data within the current panorama
10. Week  Bibliography: What to consider during reference selection, types of references (printed, electronic, others)
