Learns physiologic significance and structure of lipids, certain lipid componenets of human tissues.
Understands digestion and absorption of dietary lipids
Learns secretion and utilization of dietary lipids
Learns about lipids are transported in the plazma as lipoproteins Plasma lipoproteins and lipoprotein metabolism
Learns about storage of fatty acids in liver and adipose tissue.Metabolism of adipose tissue.
Learns biosynthesis and oxidation of fatty acids.
Knows ketogenesis in liver,use of keton bodies by the peripheral tissues and excretion of keton bodies
Learns metabolism of acylglycerols and sphingolipids
Understands cholesterol biosynthesis , transport and excretion.
Learns bile acids.
