Should be able to explain the anatomy and physiology of the autonomic nervous system
Should be able to explain the synthesis and secretion processes of sympathetic and parasympathetic system neurotransmitters and the chemicals acting on this process.
Should be able to explain sympathetic and parasympathetic system receptors, receptor distribution, signaling mechanisms
Should be able to explain the effects of sympathetic and parasympathetic systems
Should be able to explain sympathomimetic and sympatholytic drugs, their mechanism of actions, indications, contraindications, adverse effects, and drug interactions
Should be able to explain parasympathomimetic and parasympatholytic drugs, their effect of mechanisms, indications, contraindications, adverse effects and drug interactions
Should be able to explain the drugs that effects autonomic ganglia, their mechanism of actions, indications, contraindications, adverse effects, and drug interactions
Be able to explain the drugs used in glaucoma treatment and their mechanisms of action
