Learning of diseases associated with free radicals and antioxidant using.

  The mode of delivery of this course is face to face.
 --WEEKLY SCHEDULE
1. Week  Description of free radical, characteristics of radical reactions and free radical species
2. Week  Endogenous and exogenous sources of oxygen free radicals
3. Week  Targets of reactive oxygen species in the body, damage to proteins, lipids and DNA
4. Week  Damage to membrane: lipid peroxidation, mechanism and products of peroxide decomposition
5. Week  Enzymatic antioxidants: Superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx)
6. Week  Non-enzymatic antioxidants: β-carotene, vitamin C, Vitamin E and other compounds
7. Week  Description of oxidative stress, consequences of oxidative stress: adaptation, damage, repair and death
8. Week  Oxidative stress biomarkers measured in various biological materials
9. Week  Oxidative stress protocols for biomarkers used detection of free radical damage
10. Week  Diseases associated with free radicals, ischemia-reperfusion damage: cancer, and aging.
11. Week  Diseases associated with free radicals: cardiovascular disease, and diabetes.
12. Week  Diseases associated with free radicals: kidney damage, eye diseases, inflammatory diseases, neurodegerative diseases and others.
13. Week  The role of antioxidants in disease therapy, clinical trials
