Be able to comprehend systematic preoperative evaluation such as medical history, clinical and radiographic evaluation in possible patients for SFE.
Be aware of the prognosis of implants placed simultaneous with or after SFE procedures.
Distinguishes local and systemic risk factors.
Recognise the clinical indications where SFE using the transcrestal and the lateral window technique is indicated.
Be aware of the biologic differences using different grafting protocols.
Be familiar with the most frequently encountered complications related to SFE and how to prevent and handle them.
