Identify concept, culture, purpose, functionality, importance and types and of design and factors effecting the design.
Design problematic, identify current problems in textile design.
Interpret the textile design information resources (sector research, market research, customer surveys, trend-setting surveys).
Identify the goal and the role of Art and Design researches, general methodical approach in textile design researches.
Use methodical research techniques in any type of the textile design research.
Identify textile designing process of designers and design teams.
Identify designer's design attitude such as product-oriented, process-oriented, production-oriented, function oriented or customer-oriented,
Make designs and collections using the analysis theory and techniques in textile design.
Make designs and collections showing social responsibility of the designer.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Design concept, culture and factors effecting design, design functionality and the types of design. Purpose and importance of design.
2. Week  1st Research Presentation: Design problematic, current problems in textile design.
3. Week  Textile design information resources: sector and target market research, customer surveys, trend-setting surveys, global, local and ethnic styles.
4. Week  Design elements and principles, The goal and the role of Art and Design researches, general methodical approach in textile design researches.
5. Week  2nd Research Presentation: Design researches in textile sector.
6. Week  Modernist, post-modernist, structuralist post-structuralist, psychoanalytic, feminist, post-colonial, marxist, ecological etc. approaches to design.
7. Week  Analysis of concepts and context:Philosophy of symbolic forms: interpretation through conscious, culture, method, logic, semiotical analysis,
8. Week  Types of research,The hermeneutic and phenomenological methodical research approach
9. Week  Ethnographic field strategies, historical research, case studies etc.
10. Week  3rd Research Presentation: Choose a research topic about textile design , Creation of hypothesis and work plans,
11. Week  Dimensional end semantic analysis, nominal and reel identification, statistics according to data collection techniques,
12. Week  Designer vs Design team, Product oriented, process oriented, product oriented, funtion, customer oriented designs,
13. Week  Information about the design, concept or context, contend, Designer's information resources, Sketches and technical drawings of the design.
14. Week  4th Research Presentation: Data collection, analysis of subject, Fabric trend, ornament and colour analysis reports, colour and storyboard, sketches,
