Students who succeed this course can Explain the basic principles of speed control of DC, Induction and Synchronous motors.
Do dynamical analysis of DC motors.
Can achieve introductory level controller designs for DC motors.
Can perform steady state analysis of induction motors using per-unit equivalent circuits.
Explain the operation principles and structures of basic drives.
Perform steady state analysis of drives using basic drive algorithms.
Explain the practical problems such as harmonics and unbalanced operation and can perform analysis under these conditions.
