Students will be able to define and discuss the basic concepts of environment and sustainability.
Students will be able to explain the historical development of environmental and sustainability approaches.
Students will be able to interpret the legislation on environment and sustainability at national and international level.
Students will be able to interpret and discuss the objectives of sustainability, Students will be able to discuss the impacts of sustainability on the construction sector.
Students will be able to comment on sustainable cities and sustainable transportation, Students will be able to define sustainable building design.
Students will be able to interpret and discuss the objectives, principles and strategies of sustainable building design
Students will be able to explain methods for energy, material and water conservation, Students will be able to discuss the environmental impact of buildings and building materials and the life cycle assessment methodology.
Students will be able to discuss energy, water and material conservation methods in building design, Students will be able to comment on passive and active building design parameters, resources and systems
Students will be able to recognize sustainable building materials, Students will be able to comment on bioclimatic building design, green roofs and green walls, Students will be able to comment and discuss sustainable tall building design, kinetic building design and intelligent building design.
