Defines concepts of body, body image and relatives to these.
Explains the processes of formation of the person body image.
Explains how the media effects our perception of our bodies.
Studies the effects of media on male and female bodies in terms of arranging social gender roles.
Evaluates the relationship between beauty industries such as fashion, diet etc and media industries in term of the development of global consumption c
Questions the effects of people's own positive and negative body images on other fields of their lives.
Evaluates the social and economic concequences of personel perceptions about body image.

1. Week  Meeting. Introduction to the course. Terms of body, body image and relatives. Body image in historay.
2. Week  Person's interaction with his/her body. Theoretical framework of personel body image formation.
3. Week  Culture and body image. Body sociology. The relationship between the transformation in media and the change of judgments related to body image.
4. Week  The role of body perception in the formation of personality(ego) and self-respect.The presentation of personality via the body as communication channe
5. Week  The construction process and components of body image.
6. Week  The role of media in people is beauty perception. The idealized body beauty in media: Male and female bodies.
7. Week  Midderm
8. Week  The effects of media on male and female bodies in terms of arranging social gender roles.
9. Week  The relationship between beauty industries such as fashion, diet etc and media industries in term of the development of global consumption culture.
