Understand the the theory of semiconductor.
Have basic knowledge on semiconductors.
Understand the basic operating principles of PN junction diodes and zener diodes have a general knowledge of other special type diodes.
Be able to analyze diode circuits.
Understand the basic operating principles of BJTs, field effect transistors (JFET and MOSFET) and BJT and FET amplifiers.
Understand how transistor/FET amplifiers (including differential amplifiers and feedback amplifiers) work.
Learn op-amps and their applications briefly.

2. Week  Introduction to semiconductor materials, energy levels, n and p type materials, diodes
3. Week  PN junctions, Schottky junctions, The circuit mechanism in the PN junctions,
4. Week  The types of Diodes,zener diode, zener regulator,
5. Week  Transistors, structures and basic principle of transistor,
6. Week  DC and AC analysis of Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJT)
7. Week  Midterm exam
8. Week  Field-effect transistor (FET), FET structure and operation,
9. Week  BJT Biasing,
10. Week  FET Biasing,
11. Week  FET switches, Metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), MOSFET structure,
12. Week  Advantages of BJT over MOSFET, MOSFET biasing,
13. Week  Op-amps
14. Week  Feedback Amplifiers; Negative – Feedback Amplifiers
