At the end of this course the students will be able to: * recognize the forming methods for plastics
* implement the computer aided systematic design steps of the moulds for plastics
* design the molds for plastics using a computer aided design package
* carry out the filling analysis of moulds on computer
* troubleshoot the problems of a plastic product moulded

1. Week  The purpose, the content and scope of the course, introduction to the molds for plastics, clasification of the molds
2. Week  Molds for shaping of plastic materials, definition, function and design parameters of the elements of a mold
3. Week  Plastic materials, classification, properties, plastic processing methods, introduction to plastic injection molding
4. Week  Injection parameters and their effects on the quality of the plastic part
5. Week  Trouble-shooting on the plastic injection molds and parts
6. Week  Design phases and rules of the computer aided design of a plastic injection mold
