To establish an atmosphere for critical and alternative thinking about traditional folk theatre.
To provide an introduction and understanding of Turkish shadow theatre.
To gain a broad understanding of world traditional folk theatres and especially the shadow theatre.
To provide knowledge and understanding of the social aspect of folk theatre.
The relationship between westernization and traditional folk theater genres.
