1To improve and deepen the knowledge and competence which is derived from Turkish language and literature on the branch of Turkish folk literature.X
2To conceive the influence of Turkish folk literature (especially Turkish folklore) on interdisciplinary studies of whole social sciences.X
3To read, perceive and interpret the basic works of Turkish folk literature. To examine these works in terms of contemporary theories and methods.X
4Using the knowledge provided with interdisciplinary studies, to interpret the knowledge derived from Turkish folk literature and come up with new ideas.X
5To detect and find solutions for problems peculiar to Turkish folk literature through scientific methods.X
6To be able to transcribe any text pertinent Turkish folk literature, to discern the type of any text and to analyse it theoretically. Making use of compilation methods, to discuss a subject relevant to Turkish folk literature.X
