 -- LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT
Students learn morphological, phonological features and basic vocabulary of one of modern Turkic dialects.
Students read literary texts of the dialect and translate them into modern Turkish.
Students are able to examine the texts in terms of gramattical features.
Students learn morphologic and phonologic features of Turkic dialects in a different groups comparatively.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Information about the tribe that speaks the dialect determined to study and about their country. Teaching their alphabet based on Cyrillic alphabet.
2. Week  Vowel system, vowel harmony rules(comparative with Turkish).
3. Week  Vowel alterations(with regard to old Turkish and comparative with modern Turkish).
4. Week  Consonant systems, different consonants. Consonant alterations(with regard to old Turkish and comparative with modern Turkish), consonant harmony.
5. Week  Other phonetic circumstances: Assimilation, discrepancy, consonant derivation, interchange, vowel extinction.
6. Week  Summary of phonology
7. Week  Formative suffixes(different ones from Turkish). Noun inflection: noun conditions. Personal pronouns, demonstratives and their inflections.
8. Week  Midterm Exam
9. Week  Verbal inflections: personal suffixes, verbal inflections: continuous tense, present tense
10. Week  Verbal inflections: past and future tense
11. Week  Verbal inflections: imperatives and optatives Verbal inflections: conditions and necessitatives
