Students learn morphological and phonological features of Karakhanid Turkish.
Students learn morphological and phonological differences of Karakhanid Turkish from Orkhon and old Uighur Turkish
Students read works written in Karakhanid Turkish and analyze them in terms of grammatical rules.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Mid Turkish term and its scope. Karakhanids and their history. Works belonging to them and studies on those works.
2. Week  Writing ang spelling features; phonological features of the Karakhanid Turkish.Comparison with Orkhon and Uighur Turkish.
3. Week  Morphological features of Karakhanid Turkish:formative suffixes,plural suffixes,possessive suffixes, noun cases.Exercises on texts from Kutadgu Bilig.
4. Week  Morphological features of Karakhanid Turkish: personal suffixes, tense suffixes. Exercises on texts from Fergana edition of Kutadgu Bilig.
5. Week  Morphological features of Karakhanid Turkish: tense suffixes. Exercises on texts from Fergana edition of Kutadgu Bilig.
6. Week  Morphological features of Karakhanid Turkish: imperatives, conditionals, wish moods, necessitatives.Exercises on texts from Kutadgu Bilig.
7. Week  Reading, translating and grammar studies on selected texts from Egypt edition of Kutadgu Bilig.
8. Week  Midterm Exam

10. Week  General informations about Divanü Lugati’t-Türk. Studies on it and Turkology studies. Reading some parts of the work that had been translated.
