To conceive the features of novel as a text that depends on narration.
To get knowledge about the emergence and evolution of novel up to now in Western literatures.
To learn the emergence and evolution of Western style novel in Turkish literature and making analyses on sample texts.

1To improve and deepen the knowledge and competence which is derived from Turkish language and literature on the branch of modern Turkish literature.X
2To conceive the influence of modern Turkish literature (especially late history of Turkey, sociology, psychology) on interdisciplinary studies of whole social sciences.X
3To read, perceive and interpret the basic works of modern Turkish literature. To examine these works in terms of contemporary theories and methods.X
4Using the knowledge provided with interdisciplinary studies, to interpret the knowledge derived from modern Turkish literature and come up with new ideas.X
