To know the progress of changing Turkish poetry after Tanzimat era.
To know the effect of Western literature on Turkish poetry and to know the effect of Turkish folk poetry on new style Turkish poetry.
To know changing in form and content of Turkish poetry. To know Turkish poetry’s place in the world poetry.

1To improve and deepen the knowledge and competence which is derived from Turkish language and literature on the branch of modern Turkish literature.X
2To conceive the influence of modern Turkish literature (especially late history of Turkey, sociology, psychology) on interdisciplinary studies of whole social sciences.X
3To read, perceive and interpret the basic works of modern Turkish literature. To examine these works in terms of contemporary theories and methods.X
4Using the knowledge provided with interdisciplinary studies, to interpret the knowledge derived from modern Turkish literature and come up with new ideas.X
