To learn verse form Mesnevis the history and development of the resource.
To understand Classical Turkish literature the importance of writing within the tradition mesnevi.
To get information about 13th and 14th century masnavis and the author.

1. Week  The source, historical development and parts of the poetry form mesnevi.
2. Week  The first samples in Arabic, Persian and Turkish Literatures. The mesnevi of 13th and 14th centuries.
3. Week  The importance of Mevlana's Mesnevi and interpretation of the first 18 couplets.The translation and explanation of Mesnevi.
4. Week  Şeyyâd Hamza’s Yûsuf u Züleyhâ and Ahmed Fakîh’s Kitâbû Evsâf-ı Mesâcidi’ş-Şerîfe.
5. Week  Gülşehrî’s Mantıku’t-tayr and a short mesnevi called “Dâstân-ı Merd ü Zen from the piece.
6. Week  Âşık Paşa’s Garîb-nâme and “Hikâye.
7. Week  Ahmedî’s İskendernâme ve Hoca Mes’ûd’S Süheyl ü Nev-bahâr.

1To improve and deepen the knowledge and competence which is derived from Turkish language and literature on the branch of classical Turkish literature.
2To conceive the influence of classical Turkish literature (especially Ottoman history) on interdisciplinary studies of whole social sciences.
3To read, perceive and interpret the basic works of classical Turkish literature. To examine these works in terms of contemporary theories and methods.X
4Using the knowledge provided with interdisciplinary studies, to interpret the knowledge derived from classical Turkish literature and come up with new ideas.X
5To detect and find solutions for problems peculiar to classical Turkish literature through scientific methods.X
6To be able to transcribe any text related to classical Turkish literature and to detect the school of a text peculiar to modern Turkish literature and the point of it in social process, besides to examine text theoretically.X
