To become knowledgeable on the culture and civilization of Divân Literature through verse forms.
To become knowledgeable on the general attributes of verse forms in Divân poetry. To be able to discriminate the verse forms from each other.
To be able to classify the verse forms within themselves. To be able to state the problems that should be discussed on the verse forms.
To become knowledgeable on the divân classification according to the divâns studied. To become knowledgeable on the subject of the new approaches.

1. Week  Introductıon and study of the basic sources written about verse forms.
2. Week  What is the verse form? Classification of verse forms History, parts, naming of the quasida verse forms and quasida examples, Quasida and Patronage.
3. Week  History and attributes of the gazel verse forms and gazel examples.
4. Week  History and parts of the mesnevî verse forms, poets who have hamse (set of poet’s five works in the mesnevî form) Comparison of mesnevî and romance.
5. Week  Attributes and examples of the Müstezâd (supplement to each couplet or line) and kıt’a-i kebîre (strophe with more than two couplets) verse forms.
6. Week  Attributes and examples of the kıt’a (strophe), rubâ’î (quatrain) and tuyuğ (verse written with prosody in the mani {quatrain} form) verse forms
7. Week  Musammatlar (verse forms composed of stanzas) Determination of the articles, theses and books written about musammatlar
8. Week  Midterm Exam
9. Week  Attributes and examples of the verse forms of muhammes, tahmîs, müseddes, tesdis.
10. Week  Attributes and examples of the verse forms of müsebba, tesbî, müsemmen, tesmin.
11. Week  Attributes and examples of the verse forms of mütessa, tetsî, mu'aşşer, ta'şir.
12. Week  Attributes and examples of the verse forms of tercî-bend and terkîb-bend.
