1. Week  What is globalization? Definitions of globalization; Readings on differences and similarities.
2. Week  The phenomenon of globalization from the Ancient times to the present.
3. Week  Empires; comparison of the concepts domination and global power.
4. Week  First global power appearing in the world history; Roman Empire.
5. Week  A global power rising from the East in the Middle Ages; Eastern Roman Empire.
6. Week  From axis of Rome and the Eastern Roman Empire; Ancient and Medieval definition of global power, sampling studies.
7. Week  Midterm exam.
8. Week  Conversation about midterm exam.
9. Week  Last Empire; The Ottoman Empire was a global power?
10. Week  Differences and similarities of Ottoman Empire with Roman Empire in global context.
