To make the general grammatical characteristics of Modern Turkic Dialect be understood.
To be able to analyse the words morphologically and learn main phonetical features of the given language.
To learn works written in researches of Turkic languages.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week   Tatar Turks, Republic of Tatar, the historical development of Tatar Turkish, cyrillic alphabet.
2. Week   The vowel system of Tatar, Vowel harmony (comparative with Turkey Turkish); Reading Cyrillic texts.
3. Week   Vowel changes (comparative with Old Turkish and Turkey Turkish) Studying on a literary text.
4. Week   The consonant system of Tatar, consonant changes (comparative with Old Turkish and Turkey Turkish) Exercises.
5. Week   Other sound changes: Assimilation, dissimilation, prothesis, elision, metathesis. Studying on a literary text.
6. Week   Summary of Phonetics. Studying on a literary text.
7. Week   Derivational affixes (differences), derivation of nouns. Studying on a literary text.
8. Week   Midterm Exam
9. Week   Derivation of verbs: Personal endings, four types of Past tense present tense. Studying on a literary text.
10. Week   Derivation of verbs: present continuous tense, present tense and future tense. Studying on a literary text.
11. Week   Derivation of verbs: imperative, dubitative, conditional, necessitative. Studying on a literary text.
12. Week   Derivation of verbs: Imperfect (pluperfect), dubitative, conditionals; Derivation of verb substantive verb. Studying on a literary text.
13. Week   Participles and gerunds (differences); Ability; Adverbs, Postpositions, particles, interjections. Studying on a literary text.

1To get aware of the principals of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and get to know revololutionary history of modern republic of Turkey.
2To get familiar with the use of computer technology upon language teaching and linguistical studies, and to get compotent among this subject.
3To get compotent on foreign languages. To be able to follow current studies about Turkish language and literature, to contact with foreign colleagues and to share knowledge with one another.
4To learn Turkish with respect to speaking and writing properly.X
5To learn grammatical traits of classical Turkish literature. And the script which is used in those works related to it.
6To apprehend linguistical features, alphabets and lexicon of old written languages of Turkic. To be competent to read the texts written in those languages and transcribe any of them, in addition analysing them linguistically.

9To learn the periods of modern Turkish literature, their peculiarlities, literary movements, figures and works and to apprehend them through the method and theories of literature.

11To read the basic works of anonymous or sufi literature and to interpret them in terms of ideological movements. Depending on the recent knowledge, to be able about formal features of the literature. To learn how to assess this competence in light of historical, cultural materials and contemporary theories and methods.
12To learn Turkish grammar comparatively in terms of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantic and lexicon through the methods of linguistics.X
13To conceive the historical process of Turkish folk literature and folklore.
