1. Week  Recognizing the concepts of modernism, secularism, westernization and modernization
2. Week  Modernization efforts in the Ottoman Empire (the Tulip period; reigns of Mahmud I, Mustafa III and Abdulhamid I)
3. Week  Reign of Selim III and the New Order; reign of Mahmud II and the attempts at renovation
4. Week  The Tanzimat period (the edicts of Tanzimat and Islahat/Reforms)
5. Week  The First Constitutional Period - Reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II
6. Week  The Second Constitutional Period - The period of the Party of Union and Progress
7. Week  The movements of modernization in the republican period (reforms and innovations made in the political, social and economic fields)
