Possessing knowledge of the academic publications about the concept of modernization as well as knowledge of the concept itself
Understanding the role of the palace in Ottoman modernization
Being able to interpret the roles of intellectuals in the modernization after the Tanzimat
Being able to analyse the transformation of the Ottoman social structure
Being able to analyse the basic features of Ottoman modernization
