 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Basic chemical structures of microorganisms, atoms, molecules, chemical bonding, and functions of the principal macromolecules
2. Week  Classification of the universe. General structural features of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms. The anatomical structure of the bacteria.
3. Week  Bacterial genetics. Bacterial nutrition, metabolism, growth, reproduction period and the media of the reproduction.
4. Week  Forms of in-vitro growth of microorganisms
5. Week  The effect of the external environment on microorganisms Sterilization, disinfection, antisepsis concepts
6. Week  Sterilization by through physical and gas treatment, and Sterilization and disinfection with chemical agents
7. Week  Antibiotics, their action mechanisms; resistance mechanisms against to antibiotics
8. Week  midterm exam
9. Week  Microorganisms - host interactions, normal flora
10. Week  The routes of transmission of infection, virulence mechanism of microorganisms
11. Week  Natural immunity. Antigens, antibodies, immunogen, hapten,adjuvant, etc.
12. Week  Components of the immune system molecules / cells / organs. Acquired immunity (humoral and cellular)
13. Week  Vaccines and Sera
14. Week  Aerobic Gram-positive cocci (staphylococci, streptococci and entrococ) and infections.
15. Week  Gram-negative aerobic cocci (Neisseria) and infections
16. Week  Final exam
