Gaining the ability to work efficiently as individual or in a group in wood products industrial engineering discipline or in interdisciplinary studies

1. Week  Introduction to materials science. Historical perspective and classification of materials.
2. Week  The internal structure of materials: Atomic structure and atomic bonds,
3. Week  Crystalline structures, amorphous structures, solid solutions, atomic motions and atomic diffusion.
4. Week  Properties of materials: Electrical properties; conductivity, semi conductivity, dielectric, magnetic, optical.
5. Week  Mechanical Properties; mechanical behavior, deformation, fracture, fatigue, creep and relaxation.
6. Week  Technological Features; impact strength, hardness, abrasion, consistency, color fastness,
7. Week  Physical Properties; Unit weight and gap, permeability and capillary water absorption.
