Develop knowledge & cognitive skills about textile production
Develop knowledge about the structure of the language, i.e.vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation for the terms of textile
Develop four basic skills of the English language, including listening, understanding, reading and writing for the field of textile

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Textile Fibres: Classification of textile fibres; Essential requirements of fiber forming polymers
2. Week  Structure of natural fibres like cotton, wool and silk
3. Week  Introduction to important bast fibres; properties and uses of natural and man-made fibres
4. Week  Physical and chemical methods of fibre and blend identification and blend analysis
5. Week  Yarn manufacture and yarn structure & properties; bale openers, cards, drafting frames, combers, roving frames
6. Week  Production of core spun yarn, compact spinning, principle of non conventional methods of yarn production such as rotor, air jet,wrap spinning, etc.,
7. Week  Mid-term Exam
8. Week  Yarn contraction, yarn diameter, specific volume & packing coefficient; twist strength relationship in spun yarns
9. Week  Fabric manufacture and Fabric Structure:Principles of weft and warp knitting; basic weft and warp knitted structures
10. Week  Classification, production and areas of application of nonwoven fabrics
11. Week  Basic woven fabric constructions and their derivatives; crepe,cord, terry, gauze, leno and double cloth constructions
12. Week  Dyeing: Classification of dyes,Dyeing of cotton, wool, silk, polyester, nylon and acrylic with appropriate dye classes
13. Week  Methods for determination of wash, light and rubbing fastness. Evaluation of fastness properties with the help of grey scale
14. Week  Dyeing polyester/cotton and polyester/wool blends. Batchwise and continuous dyeing machines
15. Week  Printing: Styles of printing. Printing thickeners including synthetic thickeners. Printing auxiliaries
16. Week  Final Exam
