 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Introduction and historical development and history of environmental movement.
2. Week  Fundamentals of ecology: definition of ecology, levels of ecological study, the structure of ecosystems.
3. Week  Fundamentals of ecology: energy in ecosystems, laws of thermodynamics in ecology.
4. Week  Mineral and water resources, material cycles in living system (nitrogen, phosphorus and sulphur cycles in nature)
5. Week  Population, food and starvation, energy alternatives and environment, the impact of human activities on health and environment
6. Week   Environmental Pollution: Water pollution (definition, water pollution sources), Water pollution control
7. Week  Air pollution (definition, major air pollutants, natural sources of air pollution, transportation and air pollution)
8. Week  I.MIDTERM EXAM
9. Week  Air pollution (effects of air pollution, control of air pollution)
10. Week  Soil pollution (land use and land misuse), environment and development
11. Week  Preparation of environmental map that would supply data for planning.
