Thinking in terms of design is to explain shaping and forming shape construction in relation to designing
to search for ways to organize spatial composition via formal construction
to specify principles that guide shape and space organization in designing an environment or in examining a built environment.

1. Week  Introduction (Aim, Scope of the Course and Methods to be used)
2. Week  Teaching architectural design concept and architectural design approaches, design as a product, a process and a mental activity
3. Week  Introduction of concepts of design and thought, introduction of thinking in terms of design and thinking methods
4. Week  (practice assignment 1), examining an architectural design from the point of thinking in terms of design
5. Week  shape, architectural shape and architectural shaping concepts
6. Week  Factors effecting architectural shaping, shaping strategy, shaping structure, shaping process and approach regarding the shaping process
7. Week  (practice assignment 2) shaping strategy of an architectural design, shaping structure, shaping process and presenting shaping process approaches
8. Week  First midterm exam
9. Week  Factors effecting shaping, factors in creating an architectural shape in terms of physical environment and socio-cultural data
10. Week  (practice assignment 3) evaluating an architectural design from the viewpoint of factors that effect shaping
11. Week  creating an architectural shape, examining geometric and topological establishment used in the creation of architectural shape
12. Week  Transformation of architectural shape, geometric and topological methods used in transformation
13. Week  (practice assignment 4), examining an architectural example in terms of creating and transforming architectural shape
