Acquisition of Basic Law information and knowledge.
To be able to solve the daily legal problems.
To be able to prepare oneself for the law courses that will be taken at the upper classes.
To learn basic legal terms of law.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Sources of Social Conduct Rules: Religious Rules, Moral Rules, Rules of Goodmanners, Habits and Customs,customary law, and Law.
2. Week  Sources of Social Conduct Rules: Law (Legal rules)
3. Week  The concept of law, the source of law, the elements of a legal provision, the aims and objects of law, prequesities of law.
4. Week  The classification of legal rules, the systems of law, the codification of law.
5. Week  The concept of sanction and sorts of sanction. Functions of sanction
6. Week  Sources of Turkish positive law. Hierarchy among legal norms.
7. Week  Sources of Turkish positive law.(Laws, Decrees having Force of Law)
8. Week  Midterm
9. Week  The branches of Positive Law: Public Law - Private Law - Sui Generis Law; and the criteria for this classification.
10. Week  The branches of Positive Law: Public Law - Private Law - Sui Generis Law; and the criteria for this classification, basic legal terms.
11. Week  Interpretation sorts and methods of legal rules.
12. Week  The concepts of 'right', 'freedom', and 'duty'; The classification of rights; Fundamental rights and freedoms and duties.
13. Week  The concept of 'State'; The sorts of State as regards different aspects; The founding elements of a State; the concepts of 'Citizen', 'Foreigner
